About MeEvery day I meet amazing people. I work as a physiotherapist in the NHS and frequently hear stories from people whose health issues (mostly persistent pain and chronic fatigue) and life circumstances have at times been completely overwhelming. I also see the amazing capacity of those people to work with or overcome their difficulties and reconnect with their own inner strengths, as well as their ability to build physical resilience and well-being. I feel privileged to have found an environment where I can work with others who inspire me and share in my desire to support people towards healthier and happier ways of being. This work has not only been professionally satisfying but deeply enriching at a personal level. It is my hope that in this website I can share some of the understanding and skills I have gained from my observations of what helps people most , as well as from my personal experience of life’s ‘ups and downs’. I am a Chartered Physiotherapist, with a special interest in Mind-Body medicine, self management approaches for managing Pain and Fatigue, and finding ways to help people find enjoyable ways to become and stay physical active and well. I have worked in the NHS and private practice, and have training in Yoga, Acupuncture and Mindfulness Based Cognitive therapy. I currently work in the Vale Centre for Health and Care NHS GGC, after many years of work in the NHS Centre for Integrative Care in Glasgow. I'm also involved in a collaboration between Mindfulness Scotland ( where I am an associate and trainer) and the NHS GGC Health Improvement team, delivering Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course to staff. I enjoy intermittent work as a Yoga Teacher, and teach anatomy to trainee Yoga teachers. |
